Privacy notice

Version 2026-11-01

This notice explains what personal data Plevar shops handle, who receives it and what your rights are under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). Part A is for shoppers. Part B is for sellers.

Part A: Shoppers

1. What we collect

When you check out, you type:

  • your name
  • your mobile number
  • whether you want delivery or pickup
  • your delivery address, if you choose delivery

Nothing else. There is no account, no email address and no card details.

2. Why

So the shop can confirm your order, deliver it or have it ready for pickup, and contact you about it.

3. Who receives it

  • When you choose “Send order on WhatsApp”, WhatsApp opens with your order written out, including your details. When you send that message, it goes to the shop you are ordering from, through WhatsApp, which is run by WhatsApp LLC (Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Plevar does not receive a copy. From then on, the shop is responsible for your details.
  • The order link in the message holds the order reference, the products and the quantities only. It does not hold your name, number or address.
  • On Plevar's demo shop, the message goes to Plevar's WhatsApp instead of a shop, and Plevar uses it only to reply to you.

4. Where it is stored

  • In your browser, on your device: your details are saved there so the form is filled in next time. Every shop on this site, on the same device and browser, can fill in the form with them. Plevar's servers never receive them.
  • With the shop, in its WhatsApp, after you send the message.

Your browser also keeps, for this site:

  • your cart for each shop (products and quantities)
  • the products you recently viewed in a shop, at most 12, in a cookie
  • your place in product lists, so the back button returns you to it

None of these holds your name, number or address.

5. How long

  • Your saved details stay in your browser until you clear this site's data in your browser settings. Emptying your cart does not remove them.
  • Your cart stays until you empty it or clear this site's data.
  • The recently viewed cookie lasts 30 days.
  • Your place in product lists is forgotten when you close the browser tab.
  • The shop keeps your details for as long as it needs them for your order. The shop decides this, and Plevar's seller terms require it to delete them when it no longer needs them.

6. What else happens when you visit

  • Plevar shops use no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party scripts.
  • Like any website, the hosting provider records technical request logs (such as IP address, time, page address and browser type) to run and protect the service. These logs do not hold your name, number or address.
  • Product photos load from Plevar's servers and storage provider. A seller may link a photo kept elsewhere; that site then receives your browser's request for it.

7. Your rights

Under the NDPA you can ask to see your personal data, correct it, delete it, and object to its use, including for marketing. A shop may send you marketing only if you agreed to it, and every message must let you stop.

  • Your order details: ask the shop. Its WhatsApp number is at the foot of its shop page.
  • Details saved in your browser: clear this site's data in your browser settings.
  • Anything about the Plevar platform: privacy@plevar.app.

You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
